How to Use Renderings for Conceptual Design
As an interior designer, you’ve likely completed design concepts for projects, sourced furnishings and materials, and then used renderings as a visual tool for your clients.
However, there’s another way you could be using design renderings in your business. In this article, we’re sharing how to use renderings for conceptual design just like our client, Ariel Merk of Aeroview Design Co., did for one of her projects.
Conceptual Design Renderings
Ariel wanted our team at 4Dbiz to help craft the spatial layout and design feel for her project. So she asked us to create realistic, conceptual design renderings to assist her with creating the design concept.
Ariel utilized the 4Dbiz portal—a streamlined platform for creating tasks, adding details, uploading images, and communicating with a dedicated virtual design assistant—to delegate this task.

She shared a set of SketchUp images that we had designed in a previous task for her, and asked that we use these as the starting point for the realistic renderings:

Execution of the 3D Renderings
Our design assistant worked diligently and posted an update 4 business days later to show Ariel their progress with the 3D renderings and the spaces they had completed views for:

Ariel’s feedback: “Those look amazing!!!”
With Ariel’s approval, her design assistant completed the remaining renderings, including the second-floor spaces and a courtyard view for the first floor and shared the renderings with Ariel for approval.

The renderings exceeded expectations, showcasing every stunning architectural feature. Ariel shared her excitement:
“Those look great! Thank you. I am excited to add them to the website.”
Total Time Saved: 17.33 Hours
By delegating this task to 4Dbiz, Ariel not only saved over 17 hours, but also gained peace of mind knowing her renderings would be completed with precision and in a timely manner.
When you outsource your design tasks to our virtual team at 4Dbiz, it frees up valuable time that can be better spent working on your creative vision, client relationships, and growing your business.
